Conference Includes New Technology Competition with Funding Upwards of $60.7 Million

5/20/2002 – Anaheim, CA – Antarra Communications recently began working with The DVD Association (DVDA) in conjunction with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to provide additional support on building awareness, attendance and exhibitors for one of the most significant DVD industry conferences in recent times on June 3 - 4, 2002 at NIST headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland, suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Antarra Communications is targeting the DVD industry about the benefits this conference offers. Attendees will be able to interact with DVD professionals and government agencies who are exploring DVD applications for archival, and homeland security. Many government agencies and enterprises are ready to upgrade to DVD storage from deteriorating magnetic storage assets.

The Advanced Technology Program (ATP) is accepting proposals for a new technology competition with monetary awards upwards of $60.7 million. Industry professionals will receive firsthand submission knowledge for applicants to apply for competitive funding for new, high risk technologies which may include new DVD and storage technologies.

"We are active within the optical media community. Working with the industry leaders that founded the DVDA is a delight. Our goal is to examine current optical industry issues and target our marketing efforts towards influencing more of the optical industry to become DVDA members and to attend the conference," stated Carol Warren, President of Antarra Communications.

For more information, including a detailed conference agenda and online registration, visit www.nist.gov/dvd2002. Due to increased security at federal facilities, conference participants must pre-register in advance to gain admission to the NIST campus.
