Freecom Technologies
Netherlands based Freecom Technologies engaged Antarra Communications to perform a brand awareness and product publicity campaign to introduce their wide range of USB products and hard drive storage to the U.S. market. We represented Freecom from October 2002 until January 2005 when they left the U.S. market for internal company reasons.
Antarra launched a series of USB drives for the company including:
• An innovative credit card sized USB Pro card.
• The FM-10 Pro water and dust resistant rugged USB stick for security and
military uses.
• 1.8” 20GB or 40GB external USB Hard Drive.
Campaign Results:
Freecom was a Tier One European company that was unknown in North America in 2002. Antarra generated product and brand identity for the company that lead to successful buyer meetings at Retail Vision and placement on the shelves of many brick and mortar as well as online retailers. We impacted the company’s bottomline by taking them from zero revenue to five million dollars in revenues by the end of 2004. Given the many applications for a USB stick, we garnered exposure in the general press. To gain a quicker market share, we focused on more vertical markets such as government agency uses for the product. Strong relationships with the press were developed that lead to consistent coverage in many publications.
